OBELISK

The Pharaoh made it built for the memory of his victory and it was the Byzantine Emperor Theodosius I who brought it from Amon Temple of Karnak in Luxor of Egypt. Erecting in its place for the past 1600 years, the Obelisk has defied many destructive earthquakes. On each four faces of the Obelisk, there are Egyptian Hieroglyphics that depicts the valour and the bravery of the Pharaoh. The pedestal on which the Obelisk erected is carved with human figures some of which were destroyed. These figures depict some activities that took place during occasions of sportive activities. |
